To use the WhatIsMyBrowser.com API you first need to create an account with us; it's quick and easy to do. This will give you an API Access Key so that you can make requests, you also get access to the Account Management System to monitor your usage and your account.
We charge in Australian Dollars; you can use to get an indication of what the monthly price will be in your local currency each month.
It's easy to change plans later. Free to use, pay for higher quota and more features.
You don't need to enter any payment details when you sign up, so you are welcome to choose whichever plan you'd like to test out. If it's a paid plan, then early next month we'll send you an invoice indicating your costs (pro-rata) for the month you signed up in. If you'd like to keep using the API, simply enter your payment details and keep using it.
If you haven't had enough time to test everything out, just get in touch and we'd be happy to extend your trial and answer your questions.
And if you've decided the API isn't for you, just let us know and we'll cancel the invoice for you and put you on the Free tier.
Billing for the larger plans is on a monthly pro-rata basis in Australian Dollars (Convert Currency) and it's very easy to upgrade or downgrade your plan whenever you want. Try out any plan for the first month. No credit card required.
If you require an additional or customised quota for the API beyond what the Enterprise plan offers please look at our Customise API page for more information.
The WhatIsMyBrowser.com API is a recurring subscription service.
You will be billed pro-rata on the 6th day of each calendar month (UTC) for the previous month. You will be emailed an invoice each month detailing your costs and payment.
Annual Billing is available.
We give a 10% discount for annual billing. Please contact us.
Does your organisation have enormous data requirements? It's easy to customise your plan to add extra quota. You can add extra quota blocks easily and cheaply so that you never lose access.
You can monitor your usage in our Accounts System and as you approach the 100% limit, you will be sent a warning email letting you know that you're getting close to exceeding your limit.
Each API end point is metered independently, if you exceed your monthly quota for that end point you won't be able to access it until it resets at the start of the next month (or you increase your plan). So for example, if you exhaust your monthly "User Agent Parse" quota, you will still be able to access the "User Agent Batch Parse" end point, or the "Database Search" end point.
You will not automatically incur any further costs.
The exception to this rule is for customers on the Enterprise tier - if you are an Enterprise customer, even if you exceed your quota you will still be allowed to keep making requests, we do this so that your access continues uninterrupted until you add extra quota to accomodate your increased number of requests.
If you require a quota higher than what the Enterprise plan provides, you can add extra quota to your plan to meet whatever requirements you have.
You can upgrade or downgrade at any time. To change your subscription level, log in to the Accounts System, and click "Change your plan".
To cancel your subscription, simply change your account level to "Basic/Free" and you won't incur any further charges (beyond any pro-rata usage for the month so far).
We use 3Scale to manage your account details and BrainTree to process your payments. Your account details are kept safe and secure.
We accept payments from MasterCard, VISA and American Express cards.
Our friendly support team is available to you to help you at any time you need them.
